on top of a mountain . . . wedding day bliss

i have some catching up to do with my photos from my vacation . . .

on thursday, august 19th, 2010 . . . tim and i finally arrived to colorado. i love colorado. you know how sometimes we are just drawn to certain areas . . . for some it might be hawaii, paris, or maine, but for me it just happens to be colorado.

i love the mountains . . . there is something about them that i want to know more about . . . they intrigue me, their vastness, how they were formed, and yes how old are the really?

well . . .  my nephew was getting married on friday . . .

what a beautiful setting for a wedding . . . the were married at sapphire pointe breckenridge, colorado. did i mention how lovely the day was?

the weather was absolutely gorgeous . . . not a cloud in the sky . . . perfect temperature (of course . . . you are on top of a mountain.)

their reception was held at a great place as well . . . food was great and the atmosphere awesome.

dan and jenn congratulations. thanks for letting us share in this special occasion.

deux vagues embrasser (two waves embrace)

this post is one of those "epic" periods in ones life . . . you know when you deal with some really huge event in your life that just might have historical relevance . . . this is one of those moments for my 20 year old son, evan.

sometimes you don't ever want to push your children too hard . . .  but when they have a passion, or great ideas, you just want them to succeed in that dream . . . so you highly encourage
that passion or that dream that they
might have . . .

last year while attend grand rapids community college evan made this  unique sculpture in his 3-D class. the professor was so impressed with it that it was picked to go in the student spring exhibit.

then . . . while attending the spring exhibit, his dad really questioned him on whether he thought about making it  in a larger scale . . . like large enough to be in artprize. actually, both his dad and i thought that this was a genius idea . . .

tim, being a structural engineer also had connections with those in the steel industry . . . connections
were made . . .

fast forward . . .  (week
of September 22, 2010 through October 10, 2010)

evan's venue for host his "deux vagues embrasser" is the Gerald Ford Federal Building. it will be there that you can vote "up" for his sculpture.

so early this morning evan had a couple of friends help him . . . jordan and jess . . . (a huge shout out to you both!)

senior session :: henry

i can only imagine what might be going through your head as you were sitting on this dock  . . .

Photobucket

perhaps it was your first hour class . . . "team games?"
or perhaps AP physics . . .
AP english?
might have been that dual enrolled class in spanish . . .
or AP calculus . . .
how about "we the people?"

Photobucket

i know that my head was hurting after you told me all the AP classes that you were taking.
henry attends East Grand Rapids High School. not only does he enjoy sports, he also like boating, swimming, back-packing, and being out in nature.
henry aspires to attend the University of Notre Dame. and with all those AP classes that you are taking your last year of high school you may just get that "full ride."
good luck and thanks for a fun evening.
