just because . . .

the gift of each other . . . speaks so loudly.
quality time with each other is just what skye and tony express to each other.
they were celebrating one year of marriage together . . . and celebrating with a photo session of each other together.

being together on a hot summer day, showing how much they valued each other.
laughing and making each other laugh is pretty much how the night was captured.
may you always affirm each other as you spend time together.

thanks for letting me share the evening with you . . .

on the needles . . .

okay, its been such an odd week. i really don't think that the sun has come out much at all. it has also been on the coolish side as far as the temperature goes . . . so, when the weather is like this all i can think about is doing some knitting . . .

i thought that i would give you a little sneak peek of what i have on one of the many knitting needles . . . i have also come to the conclusion that this might just make me accountable to get a project done too!

so stay tuned . . .

i have to laugh sometimes at how many projects that i have going at one time.  does this ever happen to anyone else?

this is a sleeveless sweater by Plymouth Yarn Company. i purchased the pattern from a local yarn shop in Newaygo, MI which is close to our cabin. i bought the pattern because it stated that it was "long" . . . and i am always readjusting patterns in for length. i am also knitting it in the royal llama silk.

here is what it looks like so far . . .

The festivals of the church . . .

there are three very significant festivals that happen in the church calendar . . .
one . . . Christmas, the gift of God's one and only son, who came to earth.
two . . . Easter, Christ's powerful triumph over sin and death.
three . . . Pentecost, the gift of the Holy Spirit, which gives us faith to believe and trust in Christ as our Saviour.
so . . . to help my church celebrate this festival, a group of us collaborated on a sketch that I had done (over 23 years ago).
A huge shout out goes to Craig, who helped build the structure. Ingrid for cutting the fabric. And to Matt, our Minister of Worship Arts who did most of the construction of the art piece. Thanks Matt for letting me "cut-loose" with all of my creative energy and crazy ideas.

Acts 2:2-4
Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them.

matt and mellissa sneak peak . . .

wedding bells were ringing for matt and mellissa this past saturday. in michigan, you never know what the weather will be like in may.
this past saturday turned out to be such a lovely day. i was second shooter bill chardon. bill and i went to art school together, he went on to own his own business, and i went on to become an art teacher . . . this is where we met again. i taught both of his girls in elementary school. and then his family attend the same church were i go.
 . . .  back to matt and mellissa . . .
seems that they all of matt and mellissa's friends have gotten married at the same church . . .  so in keeping with the tradition of friends, they too got married at plymouth heights crc.
the flowers that decorated the church were done by a friend.
mellissa had heidi christine's do her hair, and her make-up was done by allison bower.

congratulations to the both of you . . .
